Fernhook 2014 Reviews

Vibrant and crisp, this instantly appealing sauvignon shows lifted aromas of peach, feijoa, lemon zest and dill, which lead to a lively palate that delivers plenty of ripe fruit flavours as well as lingering juicy finish. At its best: now to 2017. Feb 2015. Wine Orbit 4* 4-star-e1399533026701 Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and tightly bound with penetrating aromas of piquant herbs and gooseberry fruit, with white floral, lime, lantana and waxy nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features bright, juicy and lively gooseberry fruit flavours entwined with lifted herbs, cut grass and lantana. The mouthfeel is refreshing and thirst-quenching, the acidity enlivening the fruit. The wine follows a very fine textural thread with good energy, leading to a long, juicy, tangy finish with grassy, herb and tropical fruit notes. This is an elegant, lively and bright Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry flavours with an attractive herbal piquancy. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Raymond Chan 4* 4-star-e1399533026701
